The Drama & Media program at Alta Vista Middle School strives to inspire lifelong storytellers and to help students become clear, confident communicators. The goal is to have students graduate middle school as independent makers -- ready to take initiative on their own creative projects throughout their lives.

Within the course of a school year, the Drama & Media department produces and shares 5 (and sometimes more!) productions with the Alta Vista Community. All course curriculum is a balance of formal technique and creative exploration. The curriculum is designed to support student learning, social emotional growth, and strengthen student's ability to make connections across subjects. Whenever possible, students are given the opportunity to work with local artists outside of the school community.
