What do you hope the audience will takeaway from listening to your podcast?

I hope that the audience takes away that teamwork, flaws, hope, and love can lead the way. Love everyone, no matter who they are.

What do you enjoy most about participating in Drama Club?

The enthusiasm and joy in it. Drama Club is always fun  even if we are not together in person. It’s always enjoyable and no one puts anyone down.

I loved Drama Club in person because we got to spend time with people we never really got to spend time with. I also loved how rewarding all of the final plays are.

I am most proud of my line “Then shouldn’t we do the same to you?” After I ask, “Tell me what would you do if three of us arrived on your planet?” to Calvin. I can’t wait for the audience to hear well…actually I don’t know…ALL OF IT!

What do you hope the audience will takeaway from listening to your podcast?

I hope that the audience will take away that we are awesome (and also that when you hear emotions and sounds, you can still feel like you are watching a show).

What do you enjoy most about participating in Drama Club?

I enjoy laughing, coming up with silly ideas, and (non-virtually) acting.

I’m most proud of my monologue.

What do you hope the audience will takeaway from listening to your podcast?

I hope that the audience will learn that celebrating differences is cool.

What do you enjoy most about participating in Drama Club?

I enjoy watching everybody stumble and then grow, including myself, and there's something about being in a dark room with bright lights on the stage, with my friends and I pretending to be other people, that is timeless and magical. So, when I walk out of the building, it's close to sunset, and it feels productive, fulfilling, and nice. Especially after drama club, it's nice to sit down with a friend and have a drink or eat out, because we're both really tired and can laugh about anything.

It's also amazing that every single time I sign up for a show, which has been at least one acting part from grades 4-8, I think I'll never be able to do it well or I'll never even be able to memorize the lines. But it somehow always works out, and it's really fun to have an excuse to pretend to be someone I'm not, even though I'm not good at it, in front of people who are in the dark and are hard to see. Like they're dead or entranced.

Even with the chill rehearsals with some of my favorite people, my favorite things are the performances. We're all afraid to get up on stage, whether for a piano recital or for acting out a part in a show. Maybe we'll mess up. Maybe the audience will totally reject us. Even so, we grit our teeth and get up on stage anyway, because the only thing performers want is for their art, act, music, or whatever they've created, to transcend words.

What part of the performance are you most proud of or can’t wait for the audience to hear?

I am looking forward to them hearing the part where I yell “Hello” in an empty building.

What do you hope the audience will takeaway from listening to your podcast?

I hope that the audience will understand the message behind A Wrinkle in Time.

What do you enjoy most about participating in Drama Club?

I enjoy playing someone else who I can shape to be whoever I want.
